Robert Southard is regarded as one of the true pioneers of industrial safety. Bob's 40 year's experience included the chemical industry, pipelines, retail, food service and general manufacturing. During this time he developed safety management systems for 4 different Fortune 500 companies. Each of these companies dramatically reduced incidents and attained top 5% performance. In 1976 Bob founded SRI. His experience in working with executive leadership, line managers and employees provided him with unique insight into the behaviors and skills necessary for any organization to achieve and maintain safety excellence. Bob believed significant advancements could be made in the reduction of work place injuries through use of the comprehensive management systems he developed and he dedicated SRI to that mission.
